Scalp micropigmentation is suitable for both men and women; however, there is a difference in how male and female treatments are approached.

Like men, women can also suffer from hair loss or thinning hair. In most cases, however, women tend to lose hair evenly, and it is very unlikely that they will go completely bald.

SMP is used to restore the denser look of healthy hair and reduce the contrast between the scalp and the hairline in this case. While most male patients would need to shave their hair prior to treatment, this is not necessary for female patients. Instead, the practitioner applies pigmentation by parting the hair section by section.

WHAT CAN SMP DO FOR ME?

Many women experience diffuse thinning, characterised by a gradual loss of hair density across the entire scalp. The cause is sometimes alopecia-related, although it can also be the result of medications or physical trauma such as childbirth.

Scalp micropigmentation works well in these situations, providing scalp camouflage and increasing the appearance of hair density across the entire affected area.

Alopecia is very common among women, ranging from patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) to total hair loss (alopecia totalis). Depending on your individual circumstances, scalp micropigmentation provides an effective cover-up and can restore confidence lost following the arrival of alopecia symptoms.
